Gris Dior is an olfactory tribute to Christian Dior’s signature grey – a colour inspired by the walls of his home in Granville and frequently featured in his collections. Christian Dior often observed that placing a colour in a grey environment makes it stand out more vividly. Grey, then, is a colour that reveals all other colours. In creating the new edition, Kurkdjian’s aim was to preserve the spirit of the original Gris Dior while enhancing its intensity for a more dramatic effect. The approach was not about darkening or amplifying specific tones but rather increasing the overall brightness of the harmony, pushing each element to its maximum.
